There was nothing left of any value, really. Except for Ilisa’s house, little was left. And the looters bypassed the small brick and stucco house at the end of the road. She had seen some walk up to the front pathway, and stop in their tracks, turn around and leave. She didn’t know why. But they, too, were gone now.
