This is highly entertaining! Thank you for writing this! I love dear George the Sheriff nearly as much as Severus!
And I'm fascinated by the mention of writing it in German first - and a bit jealous. I'm still struggling to learn the language, but love it dearly....
Very good job on this story so far.
Author's Response: Thanks. Actually I'm glad that I don't have to learn German. It's got so many exceptions...that would drive me mad. Interesting choice of nickname though...don't know what to make of it really.
Again, great job! The twist of turning George into a good guy is fun.
Author's Response: Thanks. I think he's not 100% good guy either, he's too ambitious for that but I thought the film made him too much of an archvillain and I didn't find that very plausible. Glad you like it.
Excellent Marian! And you've got Prince John in here, too! In the movie, they seemed to forget all about Prince John, letting George take on both his ambitions and the role of Sheriff. But historically, and literature-wise, The Prince was the main threat. George was playing henchman to his plots.
I am enjoying this quite a bit. Please do keep it coming!
Author's Response: Thanks again. I tried to do some thorough research and found it to fit into my concept of the sheriff as the semi-good guy. :-)
MORE! Fantastic!
Author's Response: I'll try to post more soon, there are two more chapters I need to translate and the rest has to be written in German, I'll try to be quick.
LOL - Don't worry about the nickname. I admire his talents as a general, and I'm a student of WW2 history - not into the philosophy of those he worked for. =)
Author's Response: That's a great relief...*g*
Okay, now you're spoiling me. This movie always sort of pissed me off (although I do love it to bits) in the fact that they never even allowed Christopher and Marianne to kiss on screen. (If I were Kate, I'd have made it part of my contract!) I realize they wouldn't kiss until at least they were betrothed (and really, Christopher might wait for the wedding, LOL) but they don't even show them kissing after the wedding! We got a deleted scene of Emma and Hugh liplocking, even. *sigh* Okay, rant over, back to review... LOL. This is not just a story - it's a gift. Thank you for filling in a gaping gap in this movie by writing this story. And you have Marianne so perfectly pegged!
Author's Response: Yes, I could have hit Ang Lee and Emma, too for not including a kiss. :-) Actually Colonel Brandon turned me into a Rickmaniac. He's divine. Thanks for your kind reviews.
I'm falling for Christopher all over again... Leave it to him to be such a perfect gentleman and yet to have something like a Kama Sutra book around. Combining it with the poetry is a wonderful idea, too.
Author's Response: Actually I wanted him to have her read from the Kamasutra but when I did my research I found out that there hadn't been an English translation at that time. So I chose to use erotic poetry and pictures and when I stumbled across this Robert Herrick poem, I loved it so much that I thought this was a lot better than the Kamasutra. Thanks for your reviews.
Before I depart (for a cold shower) let me type this: WoW. Fan-bloody-tastic! What a lucky girl!
Author's Response: I was jealous, too when I wrote it. *sigh* Oh Colonel Brandon! :-)
Okay, this seriously needs to not be the end. But that has to be one of the best, and sweetest, love scenes I've ever read. It doesn't hurt that the imagery involved Alan, but it would be excellent even without him! Thank you again for this story! And if you ever wanted to just spend your time chronicling this wedded pair, I would eagerly come along for the ride. I've never seen an Austin fic before, and I love this one intensely!
Author's Response: I'm currently writing a few other things but I was actually planning on a sequel for this one. Thanks again for taking your time and your kind reviews.
