Wow, you managed to make everybody's life better. Severus gets a hot woman who loves him, and a career and the respect he deserves. Pugsley get more intelligent. Lucius gets a respectable life back. Macnair gets just punishment. Harry gets a far more interesting girlfriend than any in the Potterverse, although I'm sorry you didn't write how Weds. was received by Ron and Hermione. Bwahahahaha! Now, if only something bad had happened to Scumbledore...
Oops, sorry. I submitted the review before rating it.
I'm glad to see Macnair is getting what he deserves. I think the Addamses' laidbackness (or tranquilizer) is rubbing off on Severus. He's far calmer than he's ever been before.
This is great! Evil Macnair is hoist with his own petard, and Severus gets a hot woman. Things couldn't be going better.
Harry's attracted to a female Snape. I love that! I guess he just can't stand to have life be too easy. I'm glad Severus was warned about Macnair, even if that poor owl never got to him--and I'm glad the owl survived.
I like the way both Severus and Harry are getting involved with women who are non-magical, yet unusual enough to appeal to them. Of course Scumbledore can't leave well enough alone. The only way to stop him from trying to run everybody's lives would be to burn all his portraits and photographs.
Your dialogue is very realistic, and your characterizations are spot-on. I can see everyone saying and doing these things.
Aaaagggghhhhh!!! Poor Severus. Just when things were going so well for him, his hosts' weirdness comes home to roost--in his bed, no less! After everything he's been through, to be sexually assualted is too much. The Addamses are so laid back I wonder if Maman puts some kind of tranquilizer in their food. I liked Harry's conversation with Lurch. I think Lurch had more dialogue in this chapter than in the entire TV series. And Snape's final line was priceless.
Everybody's building happy new lives after the war--well, except for Macnair, who's looking to end Snape's. It'll be interesting to see how Severus deals with him.
I'm glad Severus is settling into his new life so well. He has a potential girlfriend, and he's even unbent so far as to open up to Harry. They'll never be friends, but maybe they can learn to get along.
I loved this! I have to agree with Wednesday about the horrors of The Brady Bunch and Britney Spears, although not S and G. I can see how she and Snape might hate them, though. I LOL'd when Snape yelled, "You imbecile! You've cut it in two! They're singing a duet! Listen!" That's brilliant! Of course, with his usual perfect timing, Harry has to show up just then. And he has the hots for Weds. Take that, girl next door Ginny Weasley!
Poor Severus. He just can't escape his previous life, can he? He's stuck teaching again, and the Potter brat is still interfering in his life, assisted by Granger.
Hah! I knew Scumbledore was planning to screw Snape over again some way. You're doing a fine job of adding enough new info and plot elements to keep the story going without overwhelming the reader.
This is progressing well and adding detail.
I'm very happy Severus is getting used to the idea of being a free man. He deserves it after so many decades of slavery. Of course he has to be pestered by a chatty kid, though, just when he thinks he's free of brats forever. I'm kind of sorry Ron won't be going with Harry to infuriate, I mean make amends to, Snape.
Your portrayal of all these characters is excellent. I can almost hear Carolyn Jones and John Astin speaking the words you've written and see them before me. I never really bought Alan Rickman as Snape (much too old), but I'm just imagining him in my own way.
This is an inspired idea. The Addamses are weird enough to give Severus, I mean Tobias, a run for his money. And of course Harry's [overbearing, interfering] Gryffindor heart won't take "no" for an answer and leave Snape alone. I also like the idea of his former cronies coming after Snape. There are several interesting ways this story could go.
"Talk to the hand, Potter..."
Really. Bad. Pun. But I love it, it made me giggle uproariously, and all of the other library patrons are staring at me as if I'd grown another head. I'm loving this story so far. Onward!
You were just waiting to use the line 'Talk to the hand', weren't you?! Hah!
Author's Response: That line came from RaeWhit, actually, and I used it with her consent. It was the perfect line...
I agree with your choice of the first two songs, but "Scarborough Fair" is actually quite lovely. I tell you the Simon & Garfunkel song you SHOULD have chosen: "Feelin' Groovy". You and Wednesday and I could ALL have run screaming from the room at THAT one being played!
Nice story! I'm intrigued by where you're taking it. Keep on writing!
Hi Jessica! Another member of ARWOWAM writing a fine story! Congrats on this one, I'm enjoying this immensly, and like Becky you have a great way of telling a story.
I have'nt been reading fan fics recently, and I just had to get back to it! I need to go read Becky's story, 'Obadiah's Angel'...I believe I'm on Ch. 38...It's been so long!
Love the concept for this story and I will say, I watched 'The Addams Family' when I was a kid, so you know how old I am, lol.
Again thanks for the great read and I'll be reading more of course!
Author's Response: Thank you! And I do recommend Becky's "Obadiah's Angel", it's so sweet.
This is the most wonderful of stories. I couldn't wait to read all the chapters. It was funny and so unusual. But yet perfect in a Snape kind of way.Just wonderful writing. Thanks so much. "tell it to the hand!"
Author's Response: Thank you!
