Excellent Becky! I hope everything goes well with the eye surgery.
Author's Response: Thanks Angie, Please keep me in your prayers...It's scary....Glad you enjoyed this chapter!
Becky, I am glad you ended this chapter on a happy note. I knew that the Slopes would have a great time in London. Gah! They're acting like newlyweds again! I just wonder what kind of party they have planned?? After all Angelique is 5 monthes' pregnant, and I'm assuming there's not much physically they can do, like doing the Nooky-Nooky, or the Wild Thing, lol. But I'm sure they'll come up with something.
Anyway, I'm glad that both families are happy at the news. Lol at Edward and Kenneth for getting the news first, and fixing up the nursery. At least they won't have to put up with the fumes.
I ewish you all the best Becky, with whatever's going on in your life. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and As always, I'll see you on ARWOW.
I hope to read more about Obadiah and Angelique, but you do what you need to do,Becky and when the time is right, you can come back to this lovely story.
Thank you for writing such a wonderful tale. Take care Becky! (((HUGS)))
Author's Response: Thank you for the kind words...My RL is horrid at the moment and so It's time to do some serious thinking about what I want in my life..I will post again, I hope soon..In the meantime see you around ARWOW!!!
Well, that sure is happy news! I was wondering when Angelique was complaining about getting fat, whether it was actual baby fat or just fat. Now she knows why her 'nightie' felt tight.
And the school will be well stocked with books and supplies, thanks to the festival.
I know now, that Angelique and Obadiah will have a great time in London, after hearing the happy news.
Gee, what if it's twins, a boy and girl?
Then they could use both names for both sexes. I'm off to read the next chapter! Thanks for a great story!!
Well, that was interesting! They fool around then fall asleep! Seems like a regular thingwith these two! ;0)
I'm happy to see them over their grief, and to be in their child's nursery and profess their love and sorrow was very touching. And the sermon was nice too.
Obi is pleased about all the help he's getting for the school. Great work by everyone!
A very nice chapter and great story!
Oh I am so sorry for the loss of Angelique's baby. So sad for both of them but God has a plan for them, in the end. Everyone was so sad.
But I'm glad that both Angel and Obi are fine.
Thanks Becky for a great story! ((hugs))
Hello Becky!! It's nice to get together with Obadiah, Angelique and the gang again! And the families seem very happy about the upcoming arrival. And the names they picked out for each sex are nice. Very touching that Obidiah wants to name a boy after Kenneth.
And Obi doting over his Angel, with regards to the paint fumes. In those days, you had to open up the whole house to air it out after painting. Even in my younger childhood days, you did the same thing. Why Obi did'nt open windows after the painting was done, seemed odd to me. Common sense would tell you to do that...Oh well, live and learn, right? lol
Thanks for writing a great story Becky! It's great to have you back!! :0)
Wonderful Becky! I am so very happy that they wont lose the baby. I really think this is the best story I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Take care and I will be here for the next installment....
Hugs & Many Blessings...WRR
Author's Response: Awww thank you Rose...I'm glad you are enjoying it..I just couldn't let them lose the baby...Glad you are still with me...
Always wonderful! Was so excited when I saw the new chapter posted. Hope your real life things turn out OK. Will look forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks for the kind review, I'm hoping all will turn out well too in my RL..Thank you for your concern..
Love this chapter, I know how Angelique feels I hated morning sickeness too. It was great that their father's finished most of the nursery. I can't wait to see what she does with the mural. I hope everything is alright please drop me a line if you ever feel the need to talk. Hugs
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing...yes Edward and Kenneth are really sneaky..LOL!! Yes things are ok...
So wonderful about the baby! You are a great writer, can't wait for the next chapter
Yay!
They still have their baby! Becky your amazing! Hanging on for the next installment!! ((Huggs)) ~WRR~
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review..Yes, I just couldn't let them lose the baby...Sniff!!! Glad you are still with me...Hugs...
Fabulous Becky!
For all those two go through, They can really be so HOT together! I am happy their passion is back. They deserve it!
Fantasic as always Becky! Hugs, Angela
Author's Response: Thanks Angie.....glad you are enjoying it!
Wonderful as always! Both chapters. Losing the baby was very sad but I"m sure will make them stronger.
Bettye
My heart broke when they lost the baby it is the worst feeling in the world. But Obadiah is right about God testing their faith, I feel they will be stronger then ever. Excellent chapters Becky you always did know how to make me get all mushy :) By the way I do so love the name Emily for obvious reason of course *Smirks* I look forward to reading more. Hugs, Angela
Author's Response: Thank you for the review, yes our couple are in for some trying times, but love will prevail...stay tuned for another chapter soon..
I only wish that I could read without crying. What unshakable faith they both have! Becky, you've outdone yourself AGAIN! Hanging on for the next chapter desperatly! Huggs from ~WRR~
Author's Response: Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry....Thank you for such kind words, and for your review..Right now I have a bit of writers block, but am trying to work through it...Let's just say our couple will have a bit of a bumpy ride but things will work out...
Oh my! Poor Obi!! I hope he wiil be alright. Becky, every chapter is just so full of emotion! I dont know how you do it girl! Huggs from ~WRR~
Author's Response: Rose! Hello...How are you girl? Thank you for your review..Yes Obi will be alright...Just a little setback for the time being... Lots of changes are coming up so stay tuned...Thank you for your continuing support.
Well, like I said in my last review, with all the hanky panky, I would'nt be surprized if a baby is on the way! I must have ESP or something!
I'm very happy for them, and I know Obi will take very good care of his Angel.
As I read the part where the OB docter, (I guess they did'nt call them gynacologists back then) examined Angelique, I cringed, because that is not my favorite part...after all these years!
Well, I'm glad you ended on a happy note. I assuming there will be more, I hope there is anyway. I know life interferes with our creativity now and then, like me, I have'nt picked up a paintbrush, since the end of art classes, which will be starting up in the fall.
Good luck with the rest of the story Becky. I love it and I can't wait to read about the coming arrival. ;0)
Author's Response: Yes, ESP...I thought they needed a baby, yes this soon, but isn't that the way it always happened back then? Yes there will be more, I am writing chapter 53 now, I will submit the next chapter to the beta soon...Look for it...and again thank you for the reviews they make my day!
Hmmm, they got the pen set up for the ducks, then they did the hanky panky, went into town for the wire for the ducks, then more hanky panky...If they keep doing it, I'm sure a baby will be arriving soon!
One more chapter to go...*sniff!*
Author's Response: ROFL....Yes hanky panky indeed!!! Lots of that for our newlyweds! stay tuned, more to come!!!!
Well, I'm sure if Angelique's mother and dad knew about Angelique's attire, while she and Obi made the pen for the ducks, they would've been quite shocked.
I'm glad Gertrude kept her distance, and that Obi's speech went well.
I hope the ducks will be happy living at St Paul's.
Thanks for a wonderful story. I see there's only two more chapters left...
Author's Response: LOL, No I don't believe Dotty and Edward will ever know about that dress...The ducks will love St. Pauls, I can guarantee it! Hope you enjoy the next couple chapters, I still have to get the next one beta'd..thanks for your continuing support, makes me want to keep writing...
I guess they did'nt have Noxema back then. You can you that to sooth a sunburn. Cool compresses too. They should have used sunscreen too, lol.
I'm glad to see Angelique stand up to that old bat Gertrude! You go girlfriend! woooo-hoooo!! And Rock on Obadiah! giving Mrs Oleson a piece of his mind! Great job, dude, er, Reverand.
I'm glad to see Obi return to his roots, so to speak. Those ducks were a trip, following them back to the parsonage.
I'm sure fireworks will happen before this conference is over. I look forward to a real battle between Obi, Angel and the old bat. *grins*
Thanks for a great story, and I look forward to reading the next chapter!
Author's Response: Rofl....They didn't have noxema then, nor sunscreen!! LOL!!! Yes I was so proud of Angel for standing up to her..And Obi too, he put her in her place..ut stay tuned, Our couple hasn't seen or heard the last from Mrs. Oleson! Thanks for continuing to read!!!
Whew!! *fans self vigorously* You did'nt disappoint, Miss Becky! lol. I guess the honeymoon was a huge success, Obi and Angel were certainly hot for each other. I'm glad they got together, and I'm sure they'll have many more 'get togethers' for years to come.
Now, we'll see how things go in Acton...This should be fun to watch.
I guess they forgot the mirrors...They were in the loo I suppose. I guess the tub was one of those old fashion four legged ones. My cousin has one of those in her bathroom. The whole room is old fashion. I think they're kind of neat.
I'm quite fond of the Victorian era, is this story based in that era? I was hoping to have a Victorian home and have it all furnished in that style, but, I guess I was dreaming...Think of the taxes!! Anyway, I am enjoying the story...It was a lovely two chapters and fun to read, I might add! ;0)
Author's Response: LOL!! I'm glad you liked this chapter, Yes, they will have *ALOT* more encounters...and stay tuned for what Gertrude does, she is a real prize! LOL...WELL the mirrors are at the parsonage, they stayed at the cottage...Soooooooo, no mirrors!! Thanks for the review, and for your continued support!
YAY!!!! They did it!! *happy dance* and *tosses rice at the newlyweds* Finally! I am of course, very happy for them, I'm sure it was well worth the wait, for both of them. Now the fun really begins! *grins mischieviously*
I hope they have a great marriage, and I'm sure those mirrors at the new cottage will get quite steamy, if you know what I mean!
I'm truly glad I came back to this story, the wedding and the 'aftermath', was well worth it.
One problem, unless she does it in the next chapter, she did'nt toss the bouquet, and they did'nt have a band, so no father and daughter dance, and I guess in those days, they did'nt do the garter thing...Too risque I suppose, lol
I' look forward to the next chapter, which I'll read after this one! Gotta see what happens next! ;0)
Author's Response: Yes, they finally tied the knot...Bless them, took long enough right!! Nope no garter, you're right too risque..LOL
Hope you enjoy the next chapter!!!
Hmm, End of part one...Okay...It was a very entertaining read as always. The wedding cothes are coming together, Obi and Angel are fighting temptation, while Obi's mom and dad are helping themselves to tempteation!
They're getting so many gifts, it's a wonder that she can find room for them all.
Good thing Obadiah knocked out that crazy guy at Sunnyglen...He could have impaled someone with that broken broom handle.
Looking forward to reading part 2! I'll enjoy the rest of the story. ;0)
Author's Response: Yes that man was certainly dangerous...But Obadiah saved the day! TeeHee...Yes Kenneth and Esther are quite a pair..and rest assured Obadiah will find room for everything...
A very long month indeed! Well, at least they were'nt interrupted and cooler heads prevailed...One at least!
It great that Esther is designing the bride's dress and the groom's suit.
It will save a bit of money.
Weddings back then, probably were very reasonable affairs, expense wise. Unlike today...My cousin down in NJ got married last August and the bride's family went all out with a lavish wedding reception, held at one of Philadelphia's premiere hotels. The prereception event, had one corridor filled with all kinds of hors' doevres, ( think I screwed up the spelling, lol), seafood, finger foods and, little salads. The dinner was a sit down and you had two choices. Then they had one room devoted to desserts, with a *gasp!* chocolate fountain!! OMG! I love chocolate and trust me, I would have made a meal of that! They had marshmallows, cake pieces and other foods to dip in that. I bet Aimmee's parents are still paying for that! They had a live band too.
Back to Obi and Angel...These poor kids don't know what they're missing, lol
I'm sure the wedding will be just as nice as any other. They can't wait either. It sounds like the cottage is going well.
I like the sermon Obi gave where he said that our lives are like patterns in a quilt. They run together to form 'the fabric of our lives' to quote a line from a famous commercial for cotten. And how it is intertwined through the years. I think that is very true of present day life. What we do in turn is interwoven with what we do for others and so on. It's like 'paying it forward', One good deed leads to another. I like the idea of the ladies using materials from both of the kids' lives to make that quilt.
As always, I am enjoying the story, and can't wait to see what comes up next for the happy couple! ;0)
Author's Response: hello again, and thank you for the kind review...Yes Esther knows how to sew, something Obadiah didn't know about...Yes they were as most of the family pitched in and helped with things, nothing like today where one needs to HIRE everything! LOL!Yes the Quilting sermon came to me one afternoon as I sat here trying to piece together my own quilt i have in the works! LOL!!! Glad you are till enjoying the story...HUGS!
