Oooppps!! It seems that Obi and Angel are alway getting caught in the act...I'm sure a little massaging of Obi's neck muscles is'nt inappropriate is it? It's not like they're doing the hanky panky like they were doing when her dad came home.
Reading the parts where they're kissing and all, makes one think things too...Sorry about that!
Oh! I loved the reference to Mr. Rickman that the bartender made at the pub. Mike, which I believe is Alan's brother's name. His other brother is David and his sister is Shiela, if I'm correct. I think AR's dad's name was Bejamin, and I forgot his mom's name.
Anyway, I thought that was cute!
I know one thing, this story has even seeped into my dreams! I hsd one with Alan/Obadiah in it, but I can't remember how it went! lol
Anyway, I'm glad the arrangements are all coming together for the wedding. I'm sure it will be a fun time.
And I'm glad Angelique is going back to Acton with Obi for his retreat. Hopefully Gertrude does'nt cause mayhem for them...A truly fun tale, I'm running out of lovely compliments, about this story, but I just love it!
I think it should get an award! Over on Mugglenet, they give out awards for their fanfics. This one deserves something, for crying out loud!
If it were'nt for the copyright laws, this would make a great movie.
Except the Barchester Chronicals people would need to grant permission for use of the charecter of Obadiah Slope...But Alan is too old to play him now!! Oh well...JUst a thought...*grins*

I'm glad that Obi and Angel got out of their little predictament, and that they safe. Obadiah is to admired for his manners, keeping his emotional morals intact. He's like all young men...I'm glad her family trusted him.
May 10th...Is that a special day in your life, Becky? Or was it just close your eyes and point a finger a a date on the calender...And he won't ever forget their anniversary as it is also Angelique's birthday!
I really don't think that Obi would object to a large wedding. I think he would say that it would be a celebration of their love.
I'm sure a muff would not go well in Texas! I hope you're not in the hot part of the state that has the 100 degree temperatures. I felt so bad for those who were in that heatwave.
Up here where I live in NE Pa, we'll be having our first hot days of the summer, starting on Sunday. I love to swim, but because of the cool weather, I could go swimming at the YMCA pool. Sunday, I will! Yay!!

Well, maybe someone should've consulted the weather reports, huh? I guess it was inevitable that Obadiah and Angelique would wind up in the cottage.
At least (so far) Obi is behaving himself. And how does one ride sidesaddle without falling off? I've seen women ride like this on western tv shows and wondered how they stay up there. Being the 'tomboy' that I was, I vowed to ride like the cowboys and jockeys and the horseriders in the horse shows that I watched as a child. In fact two things in your story brought back two childhood fashion memories. ONe was the muff that Angel wore...When I was a tot, I had this cute littrle fur jacket, with a hood and a cute little muff that hung from my neck..needless to say, I was in love with my muff! lol The 2nd thing was the bowler hats that the riders in the horseshows wear. I used to watch the Devon Horsehow from Devon Pa, on tv, when I was little. I begged my mom to get me a hat like they wore as they rode their horses. And so at Christmastime, I got my very own velvet bowler riding hat! I was so proud of it and wore it everywhere! I never wore it riding a horse, thought. I did ride a huge horse and was scaresd to death!! I stuck to riding ponies after that! And my favorite book was Black Beauty....I loved horses as a child and hoped to have one when I grew up. Alas, that was before I learned all the things you have to do for them...
Back to Obi and Angel! A nice surprize about Brayton Procter coming to visit...See what happens when you drink? At least he's being noble and marrying the poor girl.
I apologize for bringing up childhood recollections, and I do love the story and look forward to more adventures with our favorite couple!

Yes I too wanted a horse, but egads I saw one once, it was very tall and actually scary..so that desire to own one didn't last long! Thank you for telling me about your owning a bowler hat and a muff..I ALWAYS wanted one, but it would have been quite impracticle in TEXAS! LOL!!! At last! I'm happy that Obadiah proposed to Angelique...I thought maybe he would have done it in a more romantic place, but at least they had the fire in the fire place.

Okay, First of all, Obi should propose to Angelique in a more romantic setting...Just my two cents, lol.
A nice goft that Stephen gave him. He could wear that on his wedding day!
And it's nice that the Untners have a new housekeeper.
A question, how do you come up with the names for your charecters, outside of Obadiah and those that were in the Barchester Chronicals? I'm often curious as to how an author comes up with names. Sometimes when I write my stories, I use names of real people, due to the fact that I can relate to them easier than a fictional charecter.
I did write one story based on people that I knew personally, I changed the names. My first work of fiction, it was like a Stephen King type story, about a teenage boy who could'nt get what he wanted...He had tamtrums and acted out in bad ways. Sadly he came to a bad end, and I had to throw the story out, because I had no room to bring it up here to NE Pa.
I did write a story about a young teenaged Alan Rickman attending Hogwarts! Harry Potter and his pals were in it and I have this female charecter named Mary Kennedy, who also goes to Hogwarts and she and AR fall in love. Sadly it's incomplete, because of other things going on.
okay, Becky, I'll stop rambling, lol. Great story and I'm loving every minute of it! ;0)

Awwww, Well I thought the proposal was perfect, he did it when HE felt comfortable, when it was right for him, I think had it been in another setting he wouldn't have done it! Anyway...Yes Jeanette is the new housekeeper..Esther needed one..
Now as to character names...Some of the first names are taken from my own family, some from BABY NAME websites, that gives the meanings of the first names..The last names usually come from the PHONEBOOK of all things..or personal acquaintances..And if you will notice a few times I have used actual AR character names...LOL!

Cool!! I'm glad Obiadiah told Angel about his past. And as I knew she would, she was very understanding about that and about his mom.
And lol at Kenneth and Esther!! What a trip!! Poor Obi must've known that newlyweds are inseperatable...'the liitle soldier is up and standing at attention'. *giggle* I guess he'll be standing at attention for awhile...
Anyway, I'm glad that the dark side of Obi is over with, and maybe he can ask Angelique to marry him for crying out loud!

What a lovely ceromony! I know it won't be long before Obadiah and Angelique tie the knot. And yes! What IS Obadiah waiting for??? The poor guy is crazy about her and she's crazy for him.

It seems Obi still has memories of that Gertrude lady....I was going to call her 'that Oleson chick', but I felt it would be inappropriate, lol. Old bag is more like it, huh? *giggle*
I am enjoying this story more, than I did when I first started reading it. Maybe it had to do with seeing Half Blood Prince and how great AR looked in it! Or maybe I just felt bad that I stopped reading and let you down, Becky, since I'm you're 'biggest fan'.

I'm glad that Ruth got to see Obadiah and meet Angelique. The shower went well, as did the bacholor party. They would'nt dare holdboth events in the same home today!
Now, about 'Bubble and Squeak', what in the heck is that?? lol I was drinking some hot cappacino, (chocolate raspberry) and I burned my throat when I read that part..I had a giggle and wondered, what is that and how do you make that? I noticed you mentioned beef and cabbage...Is this something you make Becky or is it an Old English recipe?
And Angelique and Obadiah are still frisky. I'm waiting for them to 'go at it', but they keep getting interrupted.
Talk about being teased!! lol
Oh and They make moving sound so easy! Trust me, it's not as easy as Esther and Kenneth's move is. Of course they did'nt have as much to move in those days....I'll never move again!!

Bubble and Squeak
This classic dish originally contained beef along with the left-over cooked potatoes and cabbage, though today people don't generally bother with the meat. The name is apparently due to the sounds that are emitted during cooking, the vegetables bubble as they are boiled and then squeak in the frying pan.
INGREDIENTS: Butter - 25 g (1 oz) Onion - 1, finely chopped Potatoes - 450 g (1 lb), cooked and mashed Cabbage - 225 g (8 oz), Beef - 4-8 slices, cooked and finely chopped (optional).
COOKING: 1. Melt the butter in a large frying pan, add the onion and fry for a few minutes until softened, stirring frequently.
2. Add the potatoes and cabbage. If you are including the beef, add this as well. Fry over a medium heat for 15 minutes until brown then serve.

Well, it seems Angelique has a thing for Obadiah's butt, *giggle* I had to laugh, every time she did it, because of Obi's reaction. And she daringly did it at Church!! I hope The Good Lord was looking the other way....
Even Mom and Dad are getting frisky.
I know Hammersmith is in England, but do they really have alot of snow in England? I know London is noterious for fogg and drizzle. But, I'm just curious, since you piled tons of snow in this tale...Maybe you're a snow lover, Becky? I love snow, and I ive in a perfect place for it!
Great story as always and I am looking forward to reading more.

Awww! What a cute ending!! Mistletoe will do it every time! lol Another great chapter, fun to read and it had me giggling too. Poor Obie can't keep his emotions in check too well, when Angelique is near. I'd suggest a cold shower, but they probably did'nt have showers back then. And the word 'trousseau' threw me for a loop, until I figured that it meant Esther's wardrobe.
And Obadiah spraining his ankle in the snow and ice, he'd better be careful, next time. Guess they did'nt have rock salt either, lol Or snowplows. Kind of hard to put a snow plow with a horse.

Hello, Becky! It's me, Florence! I'm finally getting around to finish reading your wonderful story. I just read the chapter, where Obadiah helps Kenny move into his new home.
I also see that he and Esther are dating and they sound like they're getting married...Along with Obie and his Angel.
I was worried about Obie leaving Chance out in the snow while he went in to eat dinner. This was before he went over to see the doctor about his stitches.
Obadiah and Angelique are acting like a couple of teenagers, sneaking around, stealing kisses and whatnot.
It is nice to visit with old friends again. I have alot to catch up on! ;0)
