Oh good, another old favourite by you posted to this site! One of the things I most admire about your Tavfic is your versatility--you write so well in such a variety of genres. I don't usually even like horror fiction, but this story is both an exception *and* exceptional. It's creepy and violent, all right, but not gratuitously so. And as I've said before, it makes a nice change to read a Tavfic where the evil ruthless monster *isn't* Tavington. Very good work!
Author's Response: Thanks! Well--I do like horror fiction (just reading some Lovecraft right now). I thought Tavington could handle whatever was thrown his way. Now what genre am I missng? Hmmm. Farce? Naw--did that with Mary Sue. Must consider this. A memoir? "The life and Opinions of Col. Wm Tavington, esq? Hmm
WOW!!! I'm not sure I should have read that before bed! I should've known any tale you write is bound to be vivid, and OMG, this one surely was! It reminded me of creepy places I've seen, and the old folk-stories that just seem too weird not to be true. Okay, another cuppa tea and I'll settle enough to sleep without nightmares, I hope! The ending was so perfect, how very Tavington to just pull himself together like that! :-)
Author's Response: Thanks for the kind review! It was my first real foray into horror, and I had fun writing it!
