Glad to see you posted this here--it's been a Tavfic favourite of mine since I first read it at ff.net last July. You deserve the highest commendation for taking the two-dimensional, stereotypical token Loyalist of the movie and giving him a far fairer deal than he got from the scriptwriters. That's what fanfiction--at least when it's based on as biased and simplistic a movie as "The Patriot"--should be all about! I really hope this site, which seems to have higher standards than other fanfic sites, eventually sets up a section devoted entirely to "Patriot" fanfiction.

Something to think about as the Fourth of July approaches. Patriotism is all well and good, but when you study the history of our nation, you discover that so much of what we were taught in school was propoganda, and that the revolutionary war was a completely different thing than even movies like The Patriot tried to make out. I enjoyed this look at a character who, in the movie, was made out to be little more than a traitor to his neighbours. None of it was that simple.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I didn't know if anyone would be interested in this fandom, since it's all so Potterish, but I thought I'd give it a try, using the most calendar-appropriate of my short stories! There are two sides (and sometimes more) to every story, but history is written by the winners! I'm new at Chaos, and looking forward to reading some other fandoms at this site. Thanks again!
